Cornus kousa 'Wolf Eyes'
When you require a small, multi-stemmed shrub for a special location, 'Wolf Eyes' may be the choice to make. Growing 5 ft. tall and wide, it bears grey-green leaves with irregular creamy white margins and abundant white flowers. Foliage turns pink to red in autumn. Although less susceptable to scorch, it does best in filtered shade.

Berberis thunbergii 'Gentry'
Distinctive deep purple feathery foliage makes this mounding dwarf sized plant a spectacular eyecatcher in the sunny garden! Slow growing to 24 inches tall and wide, it is great as an accent plant or under planting a specimen shrub or tree. It's small thorns make it wonderful as a compact dense barrier or hedge.

Hydrangea macrophylla 'Bailmer'
Huge pink or blue blooms (depending on soil ph) are borne in great abundance on this plant in the summer. It grows to 4-5 feet tall and wide in sun or part shade. What makes this a truly exceptional plant is the fact that unlike many other pink or blue hydrangeas of this type, this variety bears flowers on both old and new wood - making it a very reliable flower producing hydrangea.

This unusual and delicate shrub offers Japanese Maple appearance with the durability of an elderberry. Fine purplish leaves are accented by fragrant pink flowers in late spring that attract butterflies. Grows 8 to 10 feet tall in full sun to partial shade.

Sorbaria sorbifolia 'Sem'
This vigorous, compact shrub may surprise you in the spring with its bronze-coloured young leaves that change to dark green as the summer progresses. Growng only 3 ft. tall and 4 ft. wide, it bears white astilbe-like flowers in early summer. Tolerates sun or part shade.

Cotinus coggygria 'Young Lady'
This is by far one of the best smoke bushes available. Eye-catching unusual grayish pink "flowerclouds" rise above the green leaves in mid-summer, and continue to be produced and look great on the plant throughout the summer. Vibrant orange fall leaves with reddish highlights makes this a season long wonder. It grows between 5 and 8 ft. tall in full sun (depending on pruning) and it blooms best if pruned back each spring before it leafs out.

Amelanchier canadensis
A true four season plant, this multi-stem large accent shrub has white flowers in spring, insignificant small blue berries in summer, orange-red fall leaves in the fall and smooth grey bark in the winter. When planted in sun or part shade it could grow to 20 ft. at 1-2 ft. a year. Adaptable to most soil types, it is a very hardy and problem free plant. Also available as a single stemmed tree.

Cornus racemosa
This vigorous, dense native shrub has distinctive grey bark and red-stemmed white fruit. Its rounded, upright shape is ideal for screening. It is tolerant to sun or shade and any soil condition, and it will grow quickly to 8 ft or more. An excellent shrub for attracting birds.

Rhus typhina 'Bailtiger'
Beautiful cut leaves bud out chartreuse green in spring and then turn yellow for summer, with a notable contrast to the pink stems. Grows compactly to 6 feet tall and wide in sun or light shade. Very drought tolerant when established. Branches go up but leaves point down, giving it a very distinctive oriental appearance. Fall colour is a magnificent combination of yellow, orange and intense scarlet. Bred in Minnesota. It offers restrained growth (compared to Cutleaf Sumac which grows considerably larger) less nvasive growth habit. Might be the perfect subsitute for the person wanting a Japanese Maple look without the hardiness headaches.

Daphne burkwoodii 'Carol Mackie'
Carol Mackie Daphne is a beautiful little shrub with pretty and fragrant pinkish white blossoms in early spring. The leaves have an edge of light yellow and the compact spiky growth habit makes it attractive all year. It grow to about 5 feet wide by 4 feet tall in sun to light shade, and is a deceptively hardy plant. It is best pruned directly after flowering.
