This rhododendron has striking near blue flowers in April, which is very unusual colour in the garden. The very small, elongated foliage is shiny green in summer and bronzed in winter, and the plant grows in a compacted form to about 4 to 6 ft. tall. As with most rhododendrons, it should be planted in a location protected from winter winds and winter sun.

This Hinoki Cypress cultivar is a faster growing Golden Hinoki, and is recognized for its bright lemon yellow foliage lays over emerald green and gold interior sprays producing a pleasing 2-tone effect in summer, and it has a bronzed-orange color in the winter. It has an open, tiered habit with tight fans of growth, slightly curled at the edge and dotted with small, spherical cones late in the year. This small garden conifer can attain a mature height of 15’ with a spread of 8’ after many years. As with other Hinoki Cypress cultivars, this one prefers moist, well-drained soil with afternoon shade in the summer.

The Verdoni Dwarf Hinoki Cypress makes a charming addition to any miniature setting, and as a grafted specimen it is even easier to appreciate its unique dense golden-yellow tipped foliage that gradually changes to green towards the center of the shrub. The growth habit is upright and spreads out with time. A faster growing Golden Hinoki, it is also less prone to scorch in full sun, and will grow to 5' at a rate of about 3" per year.

The thick, waxy needles of this most unusual tree are reminiscent of the spokes of an umbrella, and hence it's name. A sacred Japanese native evergreen, it has survived for many thousands of years, (proven by fossilized remains found in coal). It is slow-growing and elegant, ultimately reaching a height of 30’-60’ in size, forming a dense, sometimes multi-stemmed, pyramid. It prefers a rich well drained soil that is somewhat sheltered from winter winds. ** Special order

Remarkable contorted and compact soft needles marks this unusual small specimen evergreen treeform. It grows quite slowly to about 6 feet tall in sun or light shade, and it's unusual appearance is sure to draw attention. While it is winter hardy, some winter protection should be considered if it is to be planted in a very windy exposed location. ** Special order

Weeping White Pine is a striking addition to any winter landscape, with long soft blue green needles that can cascade gracefully to the ground. This is a particularly rare strain of Weeping White Pine that also offers a density and thickness to it that is often only seen on others once very mature. Size can be dictated by its pruning, but if left unpruned it could grow to 12' to 15'. It grows best in full sun or light shade.

This rare narrow growing spruce with bright blue needles is perfect for those who want a blue spruce but are short on space. Hardy and slow growing to approx. 12-15' in height by ultimately only 6' wide. Best in full sun to partly sunny conditions. Growth rate is slower than cedar or juniper.

At last! An evergreen of bright blue colour in a unusual strongly weeping form. With no two plants alike, the strongly weeping branches and irregularly spreading and drooping top create a unique, bright silvery-blue specimen. A striking focal point in the garden, it will grow to approximately 6' tall by the same wide in sun or light shade.

This beautiful evergreen is useful as a non-prickly groundcover plant for naturally sloping ground subject to problem run-off and erosion. It's well suited to use as low maintenance weed-blocking coverage between more high profile upright shrubs. Foliage gracefully grounds larger rock outcroppings and will drape off curbs and retaining walls. It will grow to 30 inches tall by as much as 6 ft wide or more in sun or shade. It's rich green colour and colourful red berries are kept throughout the winter.
