     Austin English Roses 

    This is a comparatively new group of roses that first came to prominence in the 1970's. Breeder David Austin of England bred these roses as a result of cross hybridization between the best of the traditional old fashioned roses and modern Hybrid Tea and Floribundas. The net result is a group of roses that have the delicate charm and fragrance of an Old Rose (which is sometimes lost in the breeding of Teas) and the repeat flowering ability of modern roses. The demand for these roses is well in excess of the supply.
