1) Image is important to us, and as our customers come from all ages, our team members share a company dress code that is reasonable to all. Proper protection (foot, sun, and mosquito) is demanded and is supplied by the team member.
2) As our business cycle peaks during brief periods, work hours can vary somewhat depending on weather, season and position.
3) All positions require some physical work, and all team members share that work. Readiness and a pleasant demeanour to tackle this work is essential. We expect all employees to carry their weight and perform their responsibilities in an appropriate, professional manner.
4) We are not interested in 'clock-watchers'. We expect our team members to ask 'Is there anything else that needs to be done?' prior to clocking out. We work with urgency, and at a pace, so that we can devote as much attention as possible to our customers, as their time is valuable to them!
5) We expect all of our team members to offer our customers polite, prompt, energetic, enthusiastic and courteous service with a smile. The broad knowledge and skills amongst all our staff is shared readily to ensure that the customer receives the right answer, the right plant, the right idea... at all times.

Landscape/Garden Centre Labourer
Varied landscape duties for a reliable and capable individual in good physical condition with a desire to learn. You must have a valid driver's license and be insurable. Previous landscape construction experience is preferred, but any recent outdoor work experience (within last 2 years) should be noted. Duties include, but are not limited to, planting, sodding, manual trenching, re-stocking of plant material, loading and unloading delivery vehicles, and assisting where needed across the entire company. Preference will be given to individuals who already reside locally to the garden centre. This seasonal position runs from mid-March until Christmas, and offers an opportunity to gain skills and knowledge of horticulture.
Landscape/Garden Centre Lead Hand
This key year round seasonal position requires a dedicated and reliable person interested in growing in experience and responsibility with an established company. The successful applicant will have had 2-3 years of hands-on landscape construction or other related outdoor work experience, be in excellent physical condition, and be able to learn quickly and eventually direct proficiently those working with them. They should have a working knowledge of plants and construction techniques, and be able to interpret landscape plans. They should possess a clean driver's license (full G minimum) and have more than minor experience driving a large truck, cube van or truck and float. A DZ license would be an asset, but is not initially required. The ideal candidate will have previous forklift and loader operating experience, and backhoe familiarity would be an asset. Our team requires a person with the confidence, attitude and abilities to assist in sales, and the professionalism that all that requires. Duties include the installation of all manners of landscaping (plantings etc.), ongoing garden centre plant care, deliveries, indoor Christmas tree sales, and minor equipment servicing.
Carry Out - Plant Maintenance
This part time seasonal position requires a friendly, outgoing high school aged student to assist customers in loading their purchases into their vehicle during the busy spring season (Apr-June), with varied outdoor plant maintenance duties throughout the balance of the summer and into the fall. Duties include but are not limited to weeding, watering, pruning, sweeping, and re-stocking of plant material. Our 'clean as a kitchen' philosophy means that this position has a great deal of importance. A committment to work all spring weekends until mid-June is required, with schedule flexibility thereafter until fall. For dedicated hard workers, part time employment can be found right through until Christmas. Transportation to our rural location is required, and this position requires a person in good physical condition.
Senior Store Cashier/Sales/Keyholder
This friendly, outgoing person in our year round Garden Centre will have a basic knowledge of plants and related products, recent computerized cashier experience, proven sales skills and a desire to learn. It is a year round position.
Duties include retail sales, display setup and maintenance, telephone service and cashier work. You will be one of the 'go to' people on staff, and some supervision of part time staff will be expected. We offer training, a job with varied duties that changes from season to season, good working conditions and flexible hours.
Seasonal Green Goods Assistant - Garden Centre Sales
This seasonal position runs from early April until mid-September. It involves daily work that includes all spring weekends, some evenings with rotating summer weekends off. Preference will be given to those individuals who are available to work on a daily basis by mid-April at latest. Preference will also be given to individuals who already reside locally to the garden centre. The successful applicant will be in good physical condition and have previous outdoor work experience. Preference will be given to those with previous horticultural experience (that could include the knowledge and ability to care for a wide range of plant material including annuals and herbaceous perennials, trees, shrubs and evergreens), and training is provided. Duties include extensive work with all plants sold on premises including unloading of delivery vehicles, tagging, watering, weeding, fertilizing and pruning work.
Part Time Cashier(s)/Sales
We offer part time employment to individuals with recent computerized cashier experience, who also have an enthusiasm for plants and for serving customers. Shifts are flexible, but will require both day and evening work availability. Availability for all shift times offered (day, evening or weekends) is required. Duties include processing cash sales, balancing, telephone service, directing carry out staff where applicable, and store display maintenance (cleaning, dusting, re-stocking as required).
